With a positive result against Queens Park Rangers likely to belatedly secure Norwich's Championship status at the weekend, City boss Glenn Roeder is looking to bolster his squad for the next campaign.

High on the Canaries manager's list of priorities is securing some of the out-of-contract and loan players currently at Carrow Road. Reading youngster Alex Pearce, who has featured ten times in his spell in Norwich, is said to be one of the names Roeder is very keen to keep.

Clubcall believes that the former West Ham boss will make a move for Pearce very soon, although much is likely to depend not only on Norwich City's status, but also on the success of Steve Coppell's side's battle with relegation.
