Rudd stars in U19s win

Norwich goalkeeper Declan Rudd played the full 90 minutes as England's youngsters kicked off their European Under-19 Championship campaign with a 3-2 win over Austria. Rudd, who was named on the bench as the Young Lions reached last year's final, will be hoping to keep his place for Wednesday's clash against the Netherlands after a fine display. The youngster, who is likely to be Norwich's number two goalkeeper behind John Ruddy for the forthcoming season, hopes the national team can go all the way in the competition this year. Ahead of the victory over Austria, he told FA.com: "It's in everyone's mind that we reached the final last year and I think we would all like to go one better and win it this time. "As a group, we have high expectations and we're not in it just to take part. We're in it to go all of the way so we're looking to do the best we can."
