Russell touted as target for rivals

Norwich midfielder Darel Russell, a year into his second spell at Carrow Road, has been mentioned as a target for Owen Coyle's Burnley, among others.

Russell, 27, rejoined the Canaries from Stoke last summer for around £500,000. The fee being bandied around for the Londoner is around that figure, with the Clarets said on their FootyMad site to have made an offer. Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic are also said to be interested.

Although Russell was signed by previous boss Peter Grant, and he blotted his copybook with a couple of unneccessary red cards towards the end of the season, Glenn Roeder is unlikely to want to lose the player at this stage of the summer before having bolstered his squad with at least a couple of new faces.
