Safri declares himself fit for Wolves

While Norwich City's midweek victory over Cardiff City ended their dreadful spell in the league, it showed no sign of helping the cause in the long term as several important players picked up injuries. Fears that others might follow Dean Marney into the treatment room have thankfully not materialised.

Youssef Safri was feared to have suffered a recurrence of his recent groin injury but, despite failing to reappear for the second half on Tuesday, has declared himself fighting fit for the crucial weekend clash at Molineux.

Battling midfielder Andy Hughes left the field early in the first half, but has not yet been ruled out of the trip to Wolverhampton on Saturday, and will have two weeks to recover before City play again.

There is no news on Jurgen Colin, who also took a knock, but he has not been ruled out of the Canaries' next match either.

The combined news shows a distinct upturn in fortunes after a disastrous recent spell which saw City lose four successive games and see a number of key players absent. The win over Cardiff saw some luck on the field, with a bizarre own goal gifting Norwich a narrow victory, and things now seem to be looking up off the field as well
