Season Ticket Sales Reach 18,000

Norwich have now virtually sold out of season tickets, where the Everton box office are said to be 'gob smacked' at the interest of Norwich fans for the FA cup tie on Saturday.

As the season ticket sales reach fever pitch, box office records are being smashed. It is no coincidence that this overwhelming interest for Season tickets had coincided with Norwich being six points clear at the top, following three wins over the Christmas period including a 2-0 victory over Ipswich. There is also the added interest following a certain Mr Huckerby making his move to Norwich permanent.

Norwich are now having to ban the sale of any further season tickets while the South Stand is still being built.

By yesterday afternoon the total number of season ticket holders had reached 18,160 – just 540 short of the maximum possible to leave room for casual and away supporters in the new 24,700 capacity ground.

Customer services manager Danny Casey said: "It is unbelievable and magnificent. I have been here for 20 years and tickets have never been going anything like it. Staff here are working totally flat out. Whatever we have is selling quickly at the moment."

All season ticket holders – including those who have bought eight-game tickets – will be guaranteed a seat for the next campaign, even if City gain promotion. Information on renewals will be sent out in January/February.

I personally can't think why people suddenly want to start watching the Canaries.....

Sunday 21st December 2003: Ipswich 0-2 Norwich, Debutant McKenzie scores two to send Norwich 'Top of the league at Portman Road'.

Friday 26th December 2003: Norwich 1-0 Forest, New boy Svensson scores his first goal for the Canaries to send Norwich 3 points clear at the top of the table.

Prior to kick off Darren Huckerby is confirmed as a Norwich City Player. And it doesn't end there....

Sunday 28th December: Derby 0 - 4 Norwich, Goals from Fleming, Mackay, McVeigh and McKenzie open Norwich's gap at the top of the table to 6 points.

Not a bad week then.

On the ball...........
