Skipper in demand

Glenn Roeder's decision to wait until he knew which division his side would be in before offering new contracts could lose him his captain.

Scot Mark Fotheringham, who has enjoyed a renaissance under Roeder and been given the captain's armband, is out of contract in the coming weeks and has yet to agree an extension.

With the Canaries awaiting an answer, a number of unnamed clubs in the Scottish Premier League have been joined by Championship rivals Charlton Athletic in the race for the former Celtic trainee's signature.

Fozzy is currently at home north of the border but his agent, no doubt aware that such interest would put his client in a stronger bargaining position, has told the Eastern Daily Press that Alan Pardew is interested, but that Roeder would meet the player soon to 'discuss options'.
