Sour Grapes By Any Chance?

What is their problem? Joe Royle cannot accept defeat at the best of times but was in top form when it came to his post match interview after he saw his side lose 3-1 to the PRIDE OF ANGLIA.

Royle was quick to stress that he still believes Ipswich are the best side in the Division and that if it wasn't down to bad luck they would be topping the division. He strongly believes that for the second time in two games his side were the better side and then lost.

"It's the second time in a week that we have comprehensively outplayed a side and lost the game by two goals," said the Town boss, whose team are now 14 points behind their Norfolk neighbours in the Division One table.

"At our best we have got more quality that the top two, but we don't have the resilience and defensive nous. We can pass the ball as well as anyone in this division – but that is not winning us games at the moment."

Of course Royle gave no credit to Norwich for Malky Mackay's two goals instead it was down too 'bad defending' (bad defending?? Ipswich?? .....Never) and 'bad luck' on Ipswich's part.

"The first goal turned the game and it has come from a poor decision, a home decision – it wasn't even a foul – and even poorer marking," he said.

"We don't get free headers in the opposition box and yet we consistently give them to the opposition. The individual concerned knows that.

"The second goal was also down to bad defending and again the individual knows that, but I can't say it was a surprise. We haven't defended properly all season. We are disappointed that we find clean sheets so elusive."

"That first goal lifted them and got them into a game that they had never been in before," he said.

"It was a poor goal to give away in a game we were totally in control of. The fact that we were in control wasn't a surprise to me – I expected it.

"I thought we were terrific at times. Magilton, Miller and Wright dominated midfield, Bent put in his best half of the season, and I thought we defended well for most of the game. But that doesn't alter the fact that we have conceded three goals.

"We haven't had a stroke of luck today. As well as that poor decision for the first goal there was a doubt about Huckerby's goal being offside. It was a real fluke anyway – it sliced off Georges Santos and went up in the air and into the net.

"As for the first half, I'm not saying the woodwork is too thick here but one less coat of paint and we would have come in at the break comfortable.

He added: "It will be hard to get an automatic promotion place now. We would need to put a near as damn it 100pc record together

"But there are no outstanding teams in this division. The top two are the most consistent but they are not outstanding. That's why there will be one or two twists and turns between now and the end of the season.

"The best team we have played this season are Wigan and I should imagine they will still fancy their chances."

Having looked at Joe 'My god Ipswich are good' Royle it is clear that Ipswich are the best team in the division, they play the same quality of football as Arsenal and are in 7th position because of the terrible luck they have been having. I feel so sorry for them. Joe Royle = Arrogant Potato

Fabian Wilnus has taken the phrase 'Sour Grapes' to a new level stating that Norwich will need 15 new players if they win promotion and that we are 'not good enough to be top of the league'.

"They are not good enough to be top of the league. They are hard-working guys and are honest enough but the way they played, especially first half, I don't think they are good enough.

"I know what it takes to be in the Premiership. They will not stay up. If they did go up they would need about 15 new players.

"The way Norwich played in the first half, then if they did go up they would come straight down by Christmas, with a record lowest points total.

"We were all over them, we were taking the mick out of them in the first half. I could not believe we were not at least two up by half-time. But that is typical, when you are top of the league everything goes your way.

"Norwich are having all the luck and they are not even having to play well to win games now."

All I will say Mr Wilnus is if, as you say, you were all over us and 'took the mick' in the first half, how come the score was 0-0 at half time? How come when we decided to step it up a gear we managed to score 3 goals against you? How come even though you are so kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck fantastic you could only manage to score from a penalty?

He said: "I have been here a long time and I know how much beating Norwich means to the fans, to the club and to me personally now it hurts.

"I would rather see West Brom, or any other team, top of the league than Norwich.

"We were doubly determined to do well, everyone was geared up to do our best. It was a big game and it was not just about three points but pride as well.

"If they were a good side you would put you hands up and say fair enough they deserve it but they are not."

No, we are a terrible side aren't we? I mean to only score 3 against you lot is just abysmal. I bet the 23 teams below us in the table are laughing at us. Worthington Out.

Let's get a few things clear:

Ipswich WERE the better side in the first half.

Norwich were terrible in the first half.

Ipswich failed to capitalise and that is why they are 7th.

Norwich stepped it up a gear in the Second Half and capitalised on poor defending that is why they are 1st.

Ipswich do not play like they did in the first half every week. That is why they are 7th.

Norwich do not play like they did in the first half every week. That is why they are 1st.

Norwich have beaten Ipswich 5-1 on aggregate this season.

Ipswich have only managed a disputed penalty all season.

Norwich are 14 points clear of Ipswich.

Joe Royle is official the most arrogant manager in world football.
