Sources rule out Curbishley

Former Charlton boss Alan Curbishley was actually on the other side of the world when he was reported to have been at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Curbishley is visiting family in New Zealand and will not be available to work for at least the next two weeks, he told BBC Radio Leeds.

Furthermore, someone close to the 48-year-old believes that he will not be tempted by anything outside the Premiership. Speculation has Alan Pardew in an insecure position at West Ham, where Curbishley was a player, while the starts made by Stuart Pearce's Manchester City and Glenn Roeder's Newcastle would suggest there might be vacancies elsewhere in the top flight.
