Norwich have been given permission to open the central part of the stand for the visit of Neil Warnock's men.

2,200 extra seats have been made available for the Canary fans and 800 more tickets available for the Blades fans.

The south stand will eventually hold 8,000 people and is to be under full use when West Ham visit the Canaries on February 21st. Last night the central part of the stand was given the all clear by safety officials.

City chief executive Neil Doncaster said today: "We are delighted we have been able to part-open the new stand earlier than scheduled to make more seats available for Saturday's match.

"Even though the accommodation will be fairly basic, we are extremely grateful for all the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes to make this happen – from the contractors, R G Carter, the safety advisory group of Norfolk County Council and our own staff."
I'm personally very much looking forward the opening of the new stand. You never know the South stand might start singing - let's not get to carried away though.
