Southall, who made his second start for the club in the midweek game at Coventry, joined the Canaries on a three-month loan deal from Bolton last month in a bid to regain regular first team football.

He said: "I'm pleased with the way it worked out at the weekend. I found it quite difficult to get into the game in the first half, as it was my first senior game for six months, but in the end I thought I did OK.

"I had a couple of chances, one of which looked as if it was going in but for a slight deflection.

"I want to get to the end of December and then try and iron something out with Norwich and Bolton so I can stay. We'll have to see what happens but in the meantime all I can do is show what I can do on the pitch," he added.
