Trialist on target in Canaries victory

Twenty-year-old French striker Cris Kamulete Makiese Ntinu Ntuluengani, Cris to his friends, hit the mark early in his debut for the Canaries.

Makiese, a demonstration of whose efforts in a pre-season clash for current club Lille against French Champions Lyon a year ago can be seen here, lobbed home after 12 minutes to give the Canaries the lead against Swedish side Ahlafors IF.

Glenn Roeder paired the trialist with Chris Martin in attack, while new signings from Fulham Dejan Stefanovic and Elliot Omozusi were not involved. Wes Hoolahan was rested following a small knock against Blackpool.

The home side equalised before half time through Tobias Emback, but Jamie Cureton won the match in injury time, nodding home Korey Smith's centre.

With Stefanovic and Omozusi bolstering the defence and Hoolahan and Sammy Clingan having been added to the midfield, Makiese will be keen to impress in the weakest area of Roeder's squad, attack.

The Frenchman began his career at Troyes before he moved to Lille. He has played in five matches over the last two seasons and seems highly rated among the LOSC faithful. Whether Makiese, one of whom's goals is shown below, can live up to his early promise will be interesting. He could become another Marc Libbra.
