We were right - sort of

When Clinton Morrison joined Coventry City on trial, it seemed that the Ricoh Arena was bursting with strikers. We speculated last week that Leon McKenzie or Kevin Kyle could be in Glenn Roeder's sights. We weren't entirely wrong.

As much as McKenzie is a Carrow Road legend, today's link with diminutive Maltese forward Michael Mifsud, he of 17 goals last season including a winning brace at Old Trafford, is far more than we had hoped for.

Much like David Bell, who will be waving a yellow shirt bearing his name around the press conference room at Carrow Road very soon, Mifsud was reportedly coveted by Premier League sides following his form last season. Bristol City and Crystal Palace are also said to be monitoring Mifsud, who has 56 caps for Malta and 19 goals.

Mifsud, a collection of whose goals can be seen below, is reported to have asjked for a transfer in the light of Chris Coleman's purchase of Freddy Eastwood and negotiations with Morrison.
