Mick McCarthy's Wolves have employed an emotional ace in the battle to capture the signature of Scunthorpe's Billy Sharp.

Sharp, who topped the British goalscoring charts with 31 strikes last season, has been linked with a £2.5million move to Wolves, West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday or Norwich, despite the Irons' promotion to the Championship.

Former Glanford Park partner Andy Keogh, who joined Wolves midway through last season, has called on his old mate to choose the West Midlands and resume their fruitful partnership in old gold. It is the largest differentiating factor to have come into the scrum for the ex-Sheffield United man's services.
