"The reports about David Johnson are news to me, there is nothing in that all," he said.
"Even if it had been true Norwich City Football Club would not be in a position to offer £3m for any one player.
"I have got a budget that I have to work within and I have to be careful how I use it because I certainly want to add two more players to the squad before the start of the season, perhaps even three.
"It's about getting the right people in at the right price, and a lot of work will be going on behind the scenes to make sure that happens."
