“They had us on the back foot in the first few minutes but we stood firm and then scored an excellent goal,” he said.
“After that the game settled down and we started to play some good football. Overall I thought we were well worth three points.
“I'd put that right up there with our best results of the season. We've come up against a Palace side who were in the middle of an excellent run and have got a lot of good players but we more than matched them and I was delighted with the attitude, patience and fitness levels shown by my players.
I couldn't really have asked for more.”
