Worthy disappionted and frustrated

Nigel Worthington was typically fatalistic about his team's narrow defeat at home to Watford, with a failure to hold onto a lead leaving the club defeated 3-2 and marooned in mid-table.

The Canaries were stung by a late goal from the visiting Hornets as Matthew Spring's last gasp strike settled a pulsating contest. Paul McVeigh, from the penalty spot after being fouled by former Canary Malky Mackay, and Peter Thorne's first goal for the club had given the Yellows the lead, but Watford's Darius Henderson equalised twice. Worthington felt it was a harsh result on his men.

"I think a draw would have been a fair result over the course of the performance," said the manager, "but the disappointing thing is we have gone a goal up twice and Watford have come back into it a couple of minutes later."

"There was a lot of good work which went in," continued the gaffer on a more positive note. "It's one of those ones where there's a narrow line between success and failure and we finished on the wrong side of that today."
