Brentford 1 Norwich City 0

A disappointing first half saw just one corner to Brentford and just two chances of note. For the home side O'Connor brought a smart diving save from Green while Darel Russell disappointingly headed over from 6 yards when well placed.

After the break the game became more open with both teams looking more purposeful and the Canaries almost took the lead 20 minutes from time when Darel Russell hit the outside of a post from Holt's cross.

But it was Brentford who stepped up a gear in the last 10 minutes and efforts by Paul Evans, Scott Partridge and Darren Powell went close. After a string of corners to the Bees, striker Kevin O'Connor burst through the City defence and clipped a neat shot wide of Robert Green and in off the far post to clinch it.

Man Of The Match: Gary Holt, worked tirelessly throughout and must have covered every blade of grass on the pitch in what was undoubtedly his best performance for the club so far.
