Norwich City managed to take all three points back to Norfolk after beating a frustrated Hull City side at the KC Stadium.

Goals from Darren Huckerby on 39 minutes and Dickson Etuhu 16 minutes later sealed a victory for the visitors with Andy Dawson getting Hull's consolation with two minutes left.

Boaz Myhill had to make a decent save midway through the first half as Simon Lappin played a short corner to Lee Croft who fired in a left-footed shot from the edge of the box forcing the Hull keeper to dive full-stretch and turn the ball past the post.

Hull nearly took the lead moments later. Lee Peltier played the ball to Ian Ashbee in space and the Tigers captain struck a left-footed 25-yard effort which came back off the inside of the post and across the goal before the Norwich defence cleared.

The Canaries took the lead towards the end of the first half. Youssef Safri whipped in a corner from the left and Huckerby touched the ball home at the near post. Myhill was furious with the referee as he felt he had been fouled in the process.

The visitors nearly made it two on the stroke of half-time as Huckerby found space in the Hull defence, ran in on goal and slid the ball right-footed past Myhill but Damien Delaney managed to get back in time to clear the effort off the line.

Norwich did make it 2-0 on 55 minutes as Huckerby raced down the right and floated in a cross which landed on the head of Etuhu who nodded it past Myhill with ease from six yards.

Hull nearly got one back midway through the second half when Peltier struck a right-footed volley from the edge of the area which flicked off the head of Nicky Barmby and on to the post.

The home side hit the post again towards the end of the game as Dean Windass curled in a right-footed 25-yard free-kick which came back off the upright.

Hull did score minutes before the end as Dawson took a free-kick left-footed from 30 yards and the ball sailed into the top corner of the net.
