Late equaliser Earns point

Norwich's first visit to Humberside in 20 years, and their first ever to the KC Stadium, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Robert Earnshaw looked to have claimed the equaliser from Leon McKenzie's cross in the 87th minute, but some sources are attributing it to a Damien Delaney own goal. The oft-mythologised dubious goals panel may have their work cut out.

The Canaries were good value for their point in the end, with late pressure eventually telling. McKenzie, returning from a long spell out injured, made a difference when introduced alongside Paul McVeigh for the last 20 minutes.

Leon Cort had given the Tigers the lead in the 26th minute from a corner and, although Nigel Worthington may in the end be pleased with a point, it still leaves his team without a win in 2006 and, perhaps more tellingly, since the sale of Dean Ashton.

Youssef Safri limped off late on after a week in which his manager criticised his country's training during the African Nations Cup which saw the Moroccan return short of match conditioning, but the return of McKenzie, so impressive in the second half of last season in the Premiership, will have buoyed all associated with the club.
