The Reds have now scored seven goals and conceded none in the space of a few days at The City Ground.

Forest's on-loan star Darren Huckerby broke the deadlock after the Norwich keeper Robert Green had saved a shot from David Johnson.

However, Green failed to hold on to the shot and the rebound was smashed home by Huckerby.

Midway through the first half Forest doubled their lead when Riccardo Scimeca corner was headed home by Marlon Harewood - his 16th goal of the season.

Forest almost scored again when Huckerby ran from inside his own half directly into the visitor's box only to be denied by an alert Green.

Harewood then received a throughball from Scimeca and chipped over the bar from 20 yards out.

Forest's onslaught continued, so much so that they went into the break to a standing ovation from the 27,296 crowd

Norwich were poor in the first half and did not manage a single shot on the Forest goal.

However. the Canaries came out a different team after the break and in the opening minutes tested Welsh goalkeeper Darren Ward with a couple of long-range shots, but none managed to penetrate.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man, cometh the young Forest captain Gareth Williams who notched up Forest's third of the day on 58 minutes.

A throughball swung in by Scimeca landed at the captain's feet and he smashed a half-volley into the back of the visitor's already battered net.

Just after the hour mark Forest's young Andy Reid had a 40-yard shot that just missed the visitor's upright.

With 15 minutes to go Johnson forced an outstretched Green to parry one of his stinging shots for a corner.

Yet another surging run by Huckerby saw him through on goal with only the keeper to beat but his shot lacked power and direction.

But minutes later Forest's Canadian international Jim Brennan hit home his first ever Forest goal and the hosts' fourth.

Brennan's powerful volley left the keeper helpless, his shot hit the inside of the post and went over the line to complete a perfect afternoon for Hart's side.
