Kenton responded to being given this opportunity in emphatic fashion, outpacing the Wenesday defenders and neatly side-footing the ball past Kevin Pressman to give City the lead after only 4 minutes.
Sibon hit the bar for the home side after 15 minutes but a minute later City's on-loan striker Nielsen made it 2-0, capitalising on some slack Wednesday defending to dodge the keeper and curl the ball into the far corner.
What was already turning into a bad afternoon for the struggling Owls became even worse as defender Paul McLaren was sent off in the 21st minute for a crass challenge on Brian McGovern.
City had struggled against nine-man Wimbledon in a similar situation the previous Saturday at Carrow Road, but this time they took full advantage and in the 27th minute Nielsen grabbed his fourth goal in four games since joining on loan from the Dons with a calm finish after good work from McVeigh.
With his side 3-0 up and cruising Worthington took no chances when Iwan Roberts picked up a knock a minute later and Alex Notman replaced the big man up front.
Notman was instrumental in setting up City's fourth, his clever chip across the box headed back down by Kenton for McVeigh to score from close range in the 39th minute.

Wednesday battled bravely after the break to keep the score down, though Nielsen came close to claiming his hat-trick in the 66th minute when his shot hit the side-netting.
In the 80th minute a great effort from Paul McVeigh was palmed on to the post by the over-worked Pressman in goal for Wednesday.
But Pressman could do nothing about City's fifth a minute later, Phil Mulryne picking out Gary Holt and the former Kilmarnock star unleashing a great effort in off the underside of the bar to complete City's first 5-0 rout since the last day of the 96/97 season, when Swindon were at the recieving end at Carrow Road.
This result certainly balances out City's nasty away record - three 4-0 defeats so far this season, and cements our position of 4th in the table, only 2 points off the leaders Burnley (who were beaten 5-1 by Man City today.) Another interesting result today - Ipswich 5 Sunderland 0 ! Would you believe it!
